ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Nature’s plant and animal creations, the colors of the Earth, the art of ancient and indigenous peoples all ask to be remembered and honored through my art.   Wild and Free Studios is particularly dedicated to the disappearing tribes, endangered species, and the expression of symbols, talismans and the collective unconscious.
Creating is like breathing to me.   The artistic process is unconstrained by mundane details of everyday life.    It is my therapy and opens my heart and grows my spirit.  Time stands still when I mix colors, and apply brush to paper.  The complements of color, the textures of paper are endless.  Art is an organic manifestation of the collective unconscious. The ah ha moment when the piece comes together reveals a creation that is better than its parts.   I let my imagination run wild, and with paper combined sometimes with canvas, can tear, shape, layer and combine multiple elements in its creation.  Putting beauty into the world, created out of random materials, is so exciting.
